I was orphaned as a teenager. My mother was murdered in front of me, and my father died soon after from terminal illness. There was no clean way through any of that. No version of rebuilding that was linear or simple. It was years of learning how to hold grief, responsibility, and a future I had to create independently.
Later, I overcame a 10-year addiction triggered by postpartum depression. That recovery changed everything about how I understand transformation. Not as something you talk about, but something you live, choose, and rebuild inside of over and over again.
That is the lens I bring into this work.
